Parent Engagement

We acknowledge that parents are the children’s primary educators and we work in partnership with them in every aspect of their early years’ education. We encourage them to share feedback with us whether positive or otherwise in order to continuously improve our service and strive to be the best that we can be.

Events

Throughout the year Peques hosts many events where we invite the parents into the setting. We host a BBQ in the summer and a Winter Wonderland leading up to Christmas. We also hold smaller events throughout the year such as parent workshops, fundraisers and smoothie/coffee mornings.

Surveys

We conduct annual parent surveys from which the information is collated and considered to promote positive changes in the nursery to reflect parental views. We also have a parent suggestion box that is accessible to collect and consider parent’s views all year round.

Progress Meetings

Peques holds progress meetings twice a year with your child’s key worker. These meetings are a great way to share information and to connect with your child’s development progress. The child’s next steps are discussed with the key worker and the parent to ensure everybody is working together to provide support in all areas and so that learning can be extended at home as well as at the Nursery.

Tapestry

Our Learning Journals are designed to follow your child through their education journey. They have been used in conjunction with the Early Years Foundation Stage” developmental stages to assess how children are progressing.

Our software “Tapestry” is interactive and has been tailored to work alongside parents/carers for them to share the journey with their children, which will in turn build strong foundations for their future.

Key Persons

Each child is assigned to a key worker within their group. The key worker is there to track the child’s development in correspondence to the EYFS framework 2021. They are there to help ensure that every child’s learning and care is tailored to meet their individual needs, they are also there to seek and engage support to and with parents/carers in guiding their child’s development at home.
